The project has been selected by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organisation (NEDO) for its FY2020 'Technology Research and Development Project for the Discovery and Commercialisation of New Energy and Other Seeds'.

The theme of the project is "Development and Large-Scale Demonstration Project of Next-Generation Solar Panel Cleaning Robot that Contributes to Substantial Reduction of LCOE", and it was selected as Phase D: Large-Scale Demonstration R&D in the field of solar power generation promotion.
